We had your senior consultant come out and inspect our home. We had no idea that the cause of our water problem in the basement was due to poor gutters, down spouts and a slight slope towards our foundation. In addition, they pointed out to us that our sprinkler heads were too close to the foundation of our home and that when the sprinklers water the grass it also caused excessive water too seep around the foundation thus getting into the basement. Your thermal imaging camera was able to tell us where the drywall was wet in the basement and allowed the user to focus in on where the leak was occurring. Once we fixed the gutters, extended the down spouts, move the sprinkler heads away from the foundation and regarded the land, the water problem in the basement was solved.

Since the beginning of our “horror story” we’ve had many so called “experts” come into our home to attempt to ascertain the water problem with our roof. Our roof problem has occurred for three years. We’ve spent thousands of dollars trying to fix it.
This is where your company differed from our past experiences with inspectors. You heard about our story and gave us a courtesy inspection, because you were truly curious about our unique situation. Because our roof problem has not been resolved for three years you wanted to use our problem as a case study to hone your inspection and remediation skills. What this demonstrated was that your goal for the future is to gain knowledge, so you can REALLY help people. You truly want to find the best possible answers for your clients. You aren’t out just for the money, like so many others are in this growing field.
At the same time you conducted our courtesy review we had another “paid” inspector come to give another opinion. He did a “good” job, but when we received your written findings his presentation was not even close to how thorough and professional your information was presented. Your credentials and training far surpassed his showing you are constantly seeking continuing education. That is very important since information in regard to water and toxic mould damage changes daily.
We have had close to seven different “inspections” of our home because of our roof, so I feel that gives us the ability to say that your company has helped us to finally resolve our dilemma. A representative from your firm, Canadian INvironmental Services, came out to our condominium because we were feeling ill and had allergy like symptoms while residing in our place. Our symptoms would go away when we left, but we started sneezing and my husband had watery and red eyes when we were at our place for an extended period. Your consultant did an infra-red scan of our unit and determined a small water leak in the corner of our bedroom. Upon removal of the baseboard, some dark mould growth was present and the underside of the carpet was wet and stained. He took an air sample and surface samples to determine which moulds were present and a scope of work was prepared in the report outlining what was required to fix the problem. Upon removal of the corner drywall in bedroom, we had substantial mould growth and some water damage to the wood studs in the wall. We since have had the mould removed and our ill symptoms have disappeared. We are feeling better in our place and we thank you for finding our mould problem.
